Phil hates Vlade

I think it safe to say that in the NBA, ANYBODY is exependable.

I mean if Shaq can be traded 2 times in 3 years…..anyway, I digress.

Today apparantly the Lakers sent Valdomir Radmonovich to Charlotte for Adam Morrison (Mr. Porn Stache from Gonzaga) and Shannon Brown.

This isn’t really big news but for those of us that follow the Lakers it was obvious Phil wasn’t digging on Radmon at all. He fell out of the rotation and is about as absent minded a player as I have ever seen. His saving grace is he can shoot from anywhere.

But the Lakers with Morrison?
Wow.
This should be interesting.

  1. Eh, nothing exciting to me. Looks like we’re trading one dysfunctional player for another. Hopefully the Zen master can help Adam. I know very little about Shannon. I think both Vlade and Morrison contracts balance out pretty evenly. Looks like we save about 1.3 million next season? (6.5/5.2 mil.) Whatever…

Anyhow, I guess I’ll be seeing Adam at the card room a lot more often..another huge game against Cleveland tomorrow.

  2. Actually, now that I think about it, I really don’t like this deal. With both players showing little value, I feel Vlade has more trade value to buy us some cap space for next season. This deal did nothing to give us room for resigning Lamar.

  3. So I’m littering on your blog here.. :-) The lakers do actually save a player option year after next season in this deal. This gives us an additional 6.5 mil of cap-space for the 2010/11 Season. Nice work Mitch.

Poor Vlade, flying to Charlotte from Cleveland for a game against the Heat tomorrow night in Charlotte. I wonder if he’ll get to come back to LA and pack up his stuff.

  4. Yeah like I said, I think Kupchak DOES know what he is doing and clearly he knew what he was doing adding that cash to the balance sheet. What worries me is adding someone new mid-season having to pick up the triangle. Even though Morrison is a good spot up shooter and can probably run the pick and pop, there’s a lot to learn and its not Kobe is a patient guy right now too. And yes, HUGE game tomorrow.

  5. It doesn’t matter if Morrison picks up the Triangle. Just like Vlade, he isn’t playing a lick. I see this as purely a fiscal decision and wouldn’t be surprised to see Morrison bought out prior to next season.

  6. I agree with that.
I am sure he will ride the bench.
That said, Phil has been known to throw curves.
So, in the playoffs, he might get a quick role for shooting in certain situations.
